Our stamp group is making Valentines for a local rest home and I have been seeing red all week! Here are a couple of the Valentines I have made.

Substituted a hot pink color for red on this one. The cupid and "love" sentiment were cut out with my Slice machine.

Here's a versatile image from STAMP'N PLUS SCRAP'N. It can be used for most any occasion. I colored it with alcohol markers and used Prismacolor pencils to do the shading. The little silver border was made with a Martha Stewart border punch.

Well, I am happily back at it again--making cards and scrapbook pages. I had to slow down over the holidays but it was well worth it to spend quality time with my girls and grandkids. We had a wonderful time (lots od lunches out) and made great family memories.

For some reason, this card didn't photograph all that well. My camera and computer pretty much do their own thing. I used three different Papertrey images and dies to do this card. I love their

coordinating stamps and ides.

One of my daughters blessed me with a Hobby Lobby gift certificate for Christmas.
I did some shopping yesterday and what a joy to find this wonderful punch that makes flowers. It is from EK Success and I hadn't seen it before. Of course I snatched it right up, along with another one that was a different style. The flowers are easy to make, and the best part is, you don't need a die cutting machine.
I used a Penny Black image for this card.

This week at the Prairie Fairy Fun Friday Blog we are playing along with Tracey's theme of "Sparkly Wings." I love glitter, so this was especially fun for me! I used this Sugarplum Fairies image from Prairie Fairy Designs. I started by printing off the image and coloring it with alcohol markers. I used some loose glitter to fill in the wings of both fairies, and added some red Stickles to the bow for a little extra sparkle. I covered the front of my card with some metallic silver paper from The Paper Studio. Then I layered the image on a piece of glitter fun foam material and adhered it to the card. A sparkly ribbon finished off the project.

Have a Holly Jolly Christmas

It's that time again! Another challenge for Fairy Fun Fridays. Lori is out host Princess this week and her theme is "Have a Holly Jolly Christmas." Soooooo you make a holiday card, BUT there is a little wrinkle. NO RED OR GREEN. Yup, those traditional colors of the season are not allowed. Fairy Fun Friday

It's time to sing the blues for the current challenge at FAIRY FUN FRIDAYS. Our hostess is Cory and she has come up with a challenge to use blue AND something white. The design team has come up with some smashingly amazing projects for this challenge. Being that the holidays are upon us, I did a Christmas card using one of the many gorgeous angel images from PRAIRIE FAIRY DESIGNS.

Of course since there is a LAW (there is, isn't there?) about making holidays cards all sparkly and glittery, I used lots of glitter to add pazazz to my card. You can see it a little better here:

I used some turquoise Stickles on the Christmas ornament and some clear Sparklets from DeNami on the angel wings and her lace. I found the white and silver paper in a drawer left over from another year. I'm pretty sure it is from K and Company.

There is still time to play in this challenge (there are PRIZES) and you don't have to use a Prairie Fairy image on your project (although they are THE SWEETEST digital images in the universe and are also inexpensive). So pull out your "blue stuff" and see what you can come up with!!

I wanted to share with you why I haven't posted any new cards in a few days.

This is my granddaughter and her new baby brother. We had Marilyn here while mommie and daddie were busy bringing her sibling into the world. We are all so happy with the new addition to the family, especially big sister, who can't stop kissing him, singing to him, and telling him "I love you."

Reindeer Games

I'm using images from STAMP'N PLUS SCRAP'N again today. This is an unusual card for me, because I didn't use ANY designer papers on it! I had to go through major withdrawal, but I managed! You better take a good look, because you won't see that happen very often. Instead of papers, I used a pine branch (or is it called a pine bough?) and stamped randomly in green ink all over the front of the card. Then I stamped the reindeer in black and colored him with alcohol markers. I used a silver pen to color the bells. I used the LAST of my luscious green ribbon that my friend Sue gave me on this card. It was hard, but I had to do it. It matched the green ink so perfectly! All in all, I guess this was a pretty traumatic card for me to make!!! Hope you like it!

Here's a simple card made with an image from STAMP'N PLUS SCRAP'N. If you don't enjoy coloring, this is a good image for embossing and leaving uncolored. I used silver pigment ink and a sparkly powder--Agean Silver from Judi Kins. Y ou can't really see the "sparkle" but it is there!

I used a tagger to attach the red buttons.

I just totally fell in love with these cowboy and cowgirl images that are new at the Prairie Fairy Store.

They are just too too CUTE!!!! They work well with a digital scrapbook kit I got at Nitwit Creations a few years ago. The picture is of my grandson. He was with grandpa, visiting a real Texas ranch. They had a great day together, learning about life on a ranch and some Texas history.

Was just thinking about coloring these cuties in red and green for Christmas. Hmmmmmm. . . . .

Fairy Fun Friday

The challenge this week at Fairy Fun Friday is "wet embossing." Since I use digital images for this challenge, I had to put my thinking cap on. Can't "stamp" the image with pigment ink and emboss it like I normally would do. So I rummaged through my "stuff" and found some pens I haven't used in a long, long time. The are embossing pens that you color with and they stay wet long enough to sprinkle clear powder on and emboss. Perfect!!!! Here's my card

Well, here I am at almost 10:30 pm FINALLY getting a minute to post my project for this week's challenge. The last two days have been crazy! First my 3 year old granddaughter got sick (allergy/cold/ear stuff). Both her parents work, so when she gets sick, it is grandma to the rescue. Well, we did crafts, we baked cookies, we did crafts again, we rocked in grandpa's chair, we did make-up, we hit the Mc Donald's drive thru, we played games on the computer. we played games on my Iphone, we watched BubbleGuppies--we did it ALL! She cried when it was time to go home. Little did she know that grandma would be babysitting again today! My son in law called at ten thirty last night that my daughter (who is seven months pregnant) FELL and could I come over today and babysit her AND my granddaughter. My daughter avoided falling on her stomach by takiing it all on her knee. She was in some major pain last night and today. Soooo BOTH grandmas were called to duty--me to babysit and the other to substitue teach my daughter's fourth graders. I am exhausted.

Here is my project. It is the granddaughter I have been talking about. A friend of my son's sent her all this candy because she had just gotten her ears pierced. It's time for another Fairy Fun Friday!! This week Debs is our hostess and the theme is "Pink and Distressed." You can find the current challenge, along with some awesome design team samples to get you going at the Prairie Fairy Fridays Blog. The challenge is open to everyone, and you do not have to use a Prairie Fairy image to play, but you can find some wonderful images that make for great projects at Prairie Fairy Designs. If you haven't been there lately, you will find some new images that are sure to please.

I chose to use a nurse Gillian image on my scrapbook page. My granddaughter, who is three, absolutely loves to play with band aids. One day she really went all out and my daughter snapped this picture. I figured her "distressed" leg would be cute in a layout. I used digital papers and embellishments from Nitwiwt Creations and Delicious Scraps.

Never Too Early

It's never too early to get going on those holiday cards. This is the first one I came up with for this year. I like to make lots of different ones, as I have LOTS to make.

I used some fun techniques on this one. The images are Papertrey and have matching dies, which makes cutting a snap. I cut them from glittered card stock and was pleased to find that I was able to emboss on it. I used a Colorbox silver pad and JudiKins Agean Silver powder. I embossed my white card stock with a Sizzix embossing folder to carry out my Christmas bulb theme. The little dots at the bottom corner are punched from the same glitter card stock, which is made by The Paper Company.

Key to My Heart

Who holds the key to your heart? If you are like me, once you started having children, they became the number one key holders. Then the grandkids started arriving and they bumped their parents out of that number one position. Well, this week my oldest daughter turns the big 40. Hard to believe. I don't know where those years went so quickly. Anyway, for this week I will give her top spot again. I will be remembering all the fun times we shared when she was the "only one" in our lives. She was a beautiful baby and grew up to be a beautiful woman, inside and out. Now she has three kids of her own who hold that key to her heart and she is doing an amazing job raising them (although she is a little overboard on the "watch the sweets" thing and I am always getting in trouble). There is a big party for her next Saturday. She told us it's too bad we won't be able to attend. We have to babysit!

A few years ago, I "found" this stamp company while surfing the internet. It is called Hanglar and is based in Norway. People images being my favorite stamp type, I instantly fell in love with these adorable images. Coloring them is a delight, and they make up into great cards! Unfortunately, they were unavailable for purchase to the United States. You had to be in Norway or Sweeden and from what I understand, they had to be paid for in the local currency. Woe was me!!! I was able to get a few stamped images from an online Norweigan friend, but that was only a temporary "fix." I would check to see the new images that I could NOT get, and convince myself that I was lucky that I could at least get some of the Magnolia brand which are somewhat like these. Much to my amazement, and bringing tears to my eyes, I was given a "Christmas" stamp set from a dear friend. I don't know how she did it (she does have family in Scotland?) but imagine my surprise when I opened the package to find some of the longed for Hanglar images. Thanks, Kirsteen. you're the best! It was a dream come true, and something I had never even imagined.

Then one sunny morning, I received an email in a language I could not understand. I figured it was some sort of spam and didn't pay attention. (wrong move) Then a couple months ago, when checking Hanglar for new images, much to my amazement, there had been a trememdous change. It was then that I realized the email was to notify me that they were now selling the stamps to customers here in the good ole USA!!! I immediately selected a set, went through checkout to PayPal, and in about ten days or so, the stamps were in my hot little hands!! The set I chose was called "Attitude" and has three girl images. This is my favorite (today, anyway)--I like her bold stance. You will see the other two images in days to come.

Happy Sunday everyone! Here is my card for today. I used a Patti's Kids image of a little girl in her rain gear, hoping against hope that we will soon get some rain in Texas. As you may know, we are loosing acres and acres to wildfires. Hundreds of homes have been lost, along with unknown numbers of wildlife and livestock. It's bad. Many people have had literally only minutes to get out of their homes and have lost everything except the shirt on their back.

Take a minute today and say a prayer that rain will soon come to Texas, and pray for those who have already lost so much. Thanks.

I just got off the phone with my brother, Dick. He is in Michigan, which is about 1200+ miles away. He calls fairly often, sometimes a couple times a week. He is into scrapbooking and does some amazing layouts. He is now getting into stamping a little more too. His projects are a lot different than mine. Where I use buttons and bows, he uses metal and wire. He made a border once out of burned matchsticks. My layouts are mostly my grandkids, his are scuba diving and Harleys. I tell him he needs a blog (doesn't everyone?) and he says he doesn't have the time or interest. But REALLY I wish he would "share" his creations. So anyway, I thought of him when I did this card with this adorable Prairie Fairy image. When he got his Harley he actually had to be on a "waiting list" for it. He's put lots of miles on it since then. Wonder how many of them have been to Hobby Lobby and back?

Just a quick Monday post because I am dying here of a horrible toothache!! Woke me up in the middle of the night. The pain meds are making me sleepy, but not doing much to ease the pain. I really don't want to go to the dentist. It's like taking your car in to have a windshield wiper replaced and then they find thirty other things they suggest need to be repaired. So for today anyway, I will keep taking the meds, hope for the best and sleep. Hope you enjoy this card.

Always on the lookout for new papers--that pretty much describes me. I have a paper addiction. I owe it to my friend, Catherine Mace, who taught me a lot about stamping and paper. She told me paper was to USE. I used to buy it an then be afraid to use it, because if I did, it would be gone, and I might need it for something. Yes, crazy, I know. Now I have thousands of sheets and always buying more. I have been sharing it, however, with friends and my sweet grandchildren. Also am "recycling" some of it (the patterns I no longer like because my tastes are always changing). I have actually printed other patters on the back of it. It is usually a great "weight" so it is perfect for that, and I am enjoying trying my hand at using some of the gorgeous digital papers that are available. I also bought an envelope die from Sizzix and am making envelopes; so pretty to have a colorful envelope OR colorful envelope interior. The papers on this card are something new that I picked up last week on sale at Hobby Lobby. It is from a pad called "Countryside Villa" and it is from The Paper Studio.

I borrowed the stamp from my friend, Sandy. It's from Inkadinkadoo and was a perfect fit with this particular paper. I am glad she had it, because seriously, I never expected I would be in the market for an image of a rooster! Just goes to show. . . .

Dance Ballerina

Happy Sunday to you! I hope wherever you are, you are able to stay reasonable cool during this heatwave that the country is having. Our lawn is beginning to turn yellow-orange, despite the watering and fertilizer, etc. It has held out pretty well, but the drought and 100 plus temps are finally getting the better of it. I have been spending LOTS of time indoors with the air conditioning on and fans blowing. It is waaaaay too hot to do much of anything, except stamp.

This week's card is a little different, as I decided the other day to print off some digital papers to use on some of my cards. I have tried it before, and the results weren't bad. The papers I chose for this card are from NitWit Creations. and are very soft colors.
This sweet little Stamp'N Plus Scrap'N image is from the collection of Mary Helen Gould images. The collection also includes some cute holiday stamps if you are looking ahead. They are petite images that fit well with the popular card styles that we are seeing. I cut this one out to layer on the Spellbinders die cuts that I did.

This is my granddaughter, who loves to be "girly" but also is a real tuffy, having two brothers.

Sewing on cards is really popular right now. I had never tried it. Mostly because my sewing machine was upstairs in a closet and my craft room is downstairs. (serious laziness here) Then one bright morning last week when I awoke to the monotonous Texas heat, I had a "lightbulb" moment. NO WAY was I going to leave the house and go forth in the 100 plus degrees that was just waiting to put me in a bad mood when I walked out the door. I am a Michigan girl, and this heat is just not normal. Although I have been officially a "Texan" since the early 1980's, I still cannot accept the onset of football season when it is more than 50 degrees outside! As Mammy told Miss Scarlett in Gone With The Wind, "Ain't fittin'! Just ain't fittin'!" Anyway, I decided it would be a great time to try something new (for me anyway). So I dusted off the sewing machine (used exactly twice, to make curtains) and dragged it downstairs to my craft room where it is now stashed under a table but close at hand for those card sewing emergencies I am sure to have.

Before stitching on my papers, I roughed up the edges with a little pink tool from Heidi Swapp that is made just for this purpose. I think I could also use the edge of a scissors, but this tool was just too cute not to buy a few years ago, and I am so happy to finally use it! I found that the sewing went quite smoothly. I am usually very competent when it comes to the bobbin thread making a HUGE mess on the back side, but for some unknown reason, that didn't happen! With my confidence now in overdrive, I bravely decided to mix it up a bit and used a different, much smaller, stitch on the second piece of paper. Voila! Success was mine! My lines were even fairly straight, although I have seen on some cards "straight" really isn't an issue.

With my stitching completed, I boldly proceeded to put them to use on a card. Not wanting to overshadow my magnificent (at least I think so) stitching, I made the rest of the card pretty simple. So there you have it--my very FIRST stitched creation. Papers are Cosmo Cricket and the sentiment is Stampin' Up.

Stamping Boutique Challenge

I have been having MEGA FUN with the dies that some of the stamp companies have been coming out with. Being able to "cut out" without having to use a scissors is wonderful! I went all out on this card. First of all, I rarely do a "background" other than some pretty designer papers of something I ran through an embossing folder. On this card, I used sponged and acloud template to create a sky, Used to do that in years gone by, so it was a bit of a trip down memory lane. The I combined the cloud die from L'il Inker and some dies from Papertrey to add images to the card. The Papertrey us the "Out of this World set. I now have grandsons (after raising four daughters, this is a real treat!) so I now get to make "boy stuff" too! I am entering this card in a challenge over at

I was SO excited to win one of the TOP THREE last week at

I know fruit stamps are really popular right now so this is great! I chose one of my fruit images from Papertrey Ink. I love it because it comes with a die of the image, which means NO scissors and uneven cuts.

I used one of the fairy images this week for my card. This sweet, whimsical image is only one of several fairy images available available HERE in the Fantasy section at Stamp'N Plus Scrap'N.

I like to use Stickles glitter to highlight the wings (you can't really see it in the picture). I used papers from Cosmo Cricket and the flower is made from Prima blossoms. The decorative border was punched with an EK Success punch.

CR84FN Challenge

I love love love this week's colors at CR84FN Color Challenge. They were so much fun to work with.

Aren't they luscious? Of course, purples/lavendars being my favorite colors made me just a bit predjudiced! This is what I came up with this time:

I ran two of the layers through the Cuttlebug in embossing folders to add some texture. I also sponged the crochet trim with some chalk ink. I used stamps from Papertrey, and a flower from Prima. The ribbon punch is Stampin' Up and the corner punch is EK Success.

Crafty Pad Designs Challenge

I am in a challenge mood today and am cranking out the cards with some challenges in mind! This card is for a challenge at Crafty Pad Designs. The idea is to use something that is CLEAR. Great chance to use my new Papertrey friendship jar stamp set and matching jar die.

I die cut a jar shape from one of the Papertrey coasters, and then a second from a piece of acetate. (HINT: I save the pieces of acetate that come with the stamps sets and use them for my jars). I stamp the jar image on both, using Staz On Black ink, being extra careful not to smear the one stamped on the acetate. Then I stamp the berries on white card stock, color and cut out. I adhere them to the first jar and then put the acetate jar on top, adhering it with a small line of Ranger Glossy Accents around the edge of the image. I use a dimensional adhesive to attach it to the card, adding the single berries at the bottom.

Yet Another New Tool!/CR84FN

So my friend, Sue, gets me into all kinds of trouble by directing me to various items that she deems necessary for us to have in our ever expanding craft stash. For example, she got me totally addicted to an online stamp company that has quickly inched its way to one of the top spots on my list of favorites ("inched" is really NOT the appropriate word here--it actually BOUNDED with one giant leap!). My stamping "budget" has therefore increased to include our monthly "let's order as a group and 'save' the shipping cost" frenzy. Sue orders for everyone and then doles it all out, leaving her husband to wonder HOW IN THE WORLD. . . when the credit card bill comes in. I am dedicating this card to her, as she is the one who enticed me to Archivers to buy the Mc Gill punch to make the flower, which is the centerpiece of the design. I don't remember how much I actually paid for the punch, but since this is only the second card I have used it for, I'm thinking this is a really EXPENSIVE card--a "designer" card, shall we say?

Sue makes gorgeous flowers for her cards, and uses them often. Mine are "fair" and I use them occasionally. Oh, I just noticed the little crocheted trim on this card is also something I saw on one of her cards and HAD to buy, OH, and the little pink doily under the sentiment--a die she led me to! See? I TOLD you!!!! Well, at least I know she is a loyal pal and will come to visit me at the poor farm! By the way, the papers on this card are K and Company and the sentiment is Verve and I found those all by myself! You can see Sue's beautifully awesome cards HERE---but be careful--she can talk you into something without saying a word!

I almost forgot!!! I am using this card for the new color challenge over at CR84FN. This week's colors are yellow, and two shades of pink. My sentiment is stamped on a yellowish paper and there are hints of yellow in the other papers too, although they don't show up that well in this picture.

Used a new image from

STAMP"N PLUS SCRAP"N

on this "sweet" card.

Stamp the image in black and color. Cut it out--I used a deckle rectangle from Spellbinders. Use Glossy Accents or another dimensional embellishment liquid and go over the candy to make it appear more like it is wrapped in clear paper. Set aside to dry Click on thte picture below to see a close-up of how the "wrappers" look.

Start with a 4 1/2" x 6 1/4" card. Cover front with bright orange paper. Cut multicolor stripe paper to

4 1/4" x 6" and adhere to card. Cut a 4" square from bright yellow paper and run it through you r die cut machine in a dotted embossing folder. Layer it on top of some bright orange and leave a tiny border around it. Take a piece of ribbon and wrap it around the bottom of this piece before adhering it to your card as shown. Add a bow. Cut an orange strip 4 1/2" x 1 3/4" and add eyelets on the ends. Add to the card. Attach the image using dimensional dots

I was considering the CR84FN color challenge this week. The colors are pink, red, and a neutral color of your choice. I started looking at some papers, stamps, etc to come up with an idea. THEN it hit me--do something a little different. Do it digital. Now, I am not even sure if they allow digital cards in the challenge, so it is understandable if they decide this card won't "do." AND I have taken a little leave of the traditional bright red and pastel pink that is shown in their example picture, which I am pretty sure is okay, but not positive.

So here goes, sink or swim. I used a digital kit from Nitwit Creations to make my card. Mary Frann has some of the cutest stuff on the web IMO. So without any inking or cutting, and in a matter of less than half an hour, this is what I came up with.

I already love doing digital scrapbook pages and have done a few digital cards before. I am looking at my stacks of paper, my hundreds of stamps, die cut machines and paper punches, and various embellishments and tools and thinking about all the money I have spent. Still love all of it the best, but digital is a GREAT way to do things too.

Last week I came across a new stamp company (to me anyway), called Lil' Inker Designs. I had seen a couple cards lately with these adorable pinwheels on and voila! they sell the die and stamp set at Lil' Inker. So I ordered it on Sunday and it arrived in Wednesday's mail. YES! So tonight I sat down and did some serious playing. Here is my first effort with the die.

I had some cute double sided paper from My Mind's Eye that worked great for my pinwheel card.
I used a Fiskars border punch and a Papertrey button die to help with my embellishments. Since I didn't happen to have the right color buttons, the button die was the perfect answer. This card was fun and I can't wait to make some more pinwheels!

I am really loving the Papertrey Ink stamps with matching dies. So much fun to use, along with their fantastic "coasters" that punch extremely well with the dies and metal shim.

I used one of the original red Sizzix dies to cut out my tag, and the images and sentiments are all from Papertrey. I embossed the background using an embossing folder from Stampin'Up.

Butterfly Stamp

I had seen this set of butterfly stamps by Inkadinkadoo a while back. I couldn't remember where I had seen it, but when I decided I HAD to have it, I couldn't find it at either Michaels' or Hobby Lobby. So I did what I usually do and went to Ebay. It was in my mailbox yesterday and this morning I had the pleasure of using it. This is the card I came up with, using two of the butterflies from the set, and a couple Papertrey Ink stamps for the sentiment. I used some white embossing powder that I came across in a drawer the other day to emboss my images. Since doing the frame in my DeNami blog hop card (below) I have been playing around with my Nestabilities, which I used for the center circle.

Welcome to the De Nami Fabulous Frames Blog Hop. You should have arrived here from Karen McAlpine's Blog. If you just happened up the blog hop and want to start at the beginning, just glick on the red DeNami above and it will take you to the beginning.

We are using some of the wonderful De Nami stamps today to create projects that include frames. I used
P 55 Daisy Background to make my frame. I stamped it with black Memento ink and used Marvy Embossing Markers to color it in. I embossed itt with clear embossing powder. Then I used the Memento ink and brayered across the entire image. Using a paper towel, I wiped off the ink on the embossed flowers. Using two sizes of Spellbinders round nestabilities, I cut a frame from the image. I layered this frame over a scalloped circle cut with another nestability. Using a piercing needle, I pierced tiny holes in each of the scallops and also around the inside of the frame.

I punched flowers from the same paper and added dots with a marker, I added these to the frame. Then I inked up my metal "Inspire" with white pigment ink and embossed it using white embossing powder. I used pop dots to adhere it to the image. I then punched two borders using a Martha Stewart border punch and layered them across the card along with a piece of lace. I adhered the main image and then added a tiny bow and some rhinestones to finish my card.

It's fun to take the selected colors and work with them, although I must admit, it took me hours today to do this one. Here is my take on the challenge--

I used some textured cardstock for the basic colors. The stamped image is from Gina K, cut out with a Spellbinder's die. (my camera picked up a little shadow that isn't ON the image! UGH!) I used a border punch to cut some borders from the craft colored paper and layered the bottom with some pretty crocheted trim I found at Hobby Lobby. I made the paper roses with a Sizzix die.

Here is a card I decided to enter into the GOING GREY WITH SCRAP CREATIONS CHALLENGE.

The idea was to use designer papers--lots of it! I have used three dp's from Jillibean Design. The images are from Stamp'n Plus Scrap'n. I also posted this card for my weekly post at the Stamp'n Plus Scrap'n Blog.
I got to use my new Recollections punch to make the cross stitch border (saved the punched out x's to use for something else). Also used a Spellbinder's die to cut out the image and also to cut out the sentiment tag. I found that orange ribbon at Target at their "Dollar Spot" (of all places!).

Just fell in love with the fruity stamp sets and dies that Papertrey introduced this month. Did this card with the strawberry set that I got.

After cutting the berry image out of some Jillibean Soup papers, I cut them again out of some of the coasters that Papertrey sells. I glued them together to give the berries some great dimension. The little strips of paper are cut from My Mind's Eye paper.

Fairy Fun Friday

It's time again for another Fairy Fun Friday! Our theme this time around is "More Than One Fold." I did a card like this a long time ago, after seeing one while surfing the internet. It was kinda tricky for me to figure out, but once I did one, it was MUCH simpler the next time.

I used "Gerry's Birthday" which you can find at Prairie Fairy Designs along with tons of other amazing graphic images. This set imcludes all three of the graphics I used on this card. You can use them all, or use just one at a time.

For this card, I used a 4" by 12" piece of card stock. I used my Martha Stewart Scor Board and scored it at 2", 4", 8" and 10". Now turn your card over and mark it at 6 inches on both the top and bottom. Now you will score your card from the 2" score to the bottom mark Rotate it 180 degrees and do the same thing from the 2" score to the other pencil mark. This will form the diamond shape in the middle of your card. Your diagonal scores will be mountain folds and the verticle scores will be valley folds. By pushing the sides in, the card becomes a four inch square.

I don't send out as many "Thank You" cards as I should. I have so many great friends and we are always doing nice things for each other. Since 99% of my pals are stampers, they always enjoy getting a card, no matter what the occasion. I try to remember birthdays (and am often late) but I really need to concentrate on those "thanks yous" a bit more. This truck image from STAMP'N PLUS SCRAP'N is actually really versatile, as you can stamp whatever sentiment you need on it. It would be a great stamp to use to announce you have moved to a new address!

This would also make a good male birthday card with a "Happy Birthday" stamped on it. This card is really pretty quick and easy. Use a big paper punch to quickly punch the circle from your paper, and punch the photo corners with one of the many corner punches that are on the market (I used one from EK Success).

The "Thanks" sentiment can be found along with many others in the STAMP'N PLUS SCRAP'N online store. New images are being added often, so if you haven't been there in a while, go take a look!

"Here Come the Girls" is this week's challenge at Fairy Fun Fridays. I decided in honor of my Mom and Mother's Day, I would do a scrapbook layout of her and my Aunt. Mom is on the left. This picture was taken in the 1940's one Easter Sunday. Don't you just love the way they dressed up in those days, with the hats, gloves and all! I like the black and white, and decided to keep that as my color theme.
I used the Freesia image from Prairie Fairy that can be found here. There are several other gorgeous floral designs that can be used for special scrapbook layouts, including coneflowers, daffodils, cherry blossoms, green tea, lillies, poppies, and sunflowers. Since they are digital, you can size them to whatever you need and they are fun to color.

When I saw this sweet image, I knew I had to make a card with it. Isn't it a beauty?! I stamped it in white and just touched the spots where there was some shading, using a pale blue marker. After I cut it out with a

Spellbinder's die, I sponged around the image with a pastel blue chalk ink. I then layered it on a blue scallop that I also cut with a Spellbinders die. The sweet papers are from Jillibean Soup. I ran a piece of redline tape across the card and gathered the seam binding along it. The bow and some little Dew Drops finished it off.

Flying Off

Hot Hot Hot

My thermometer says it is over 90 degrees at the moment. It is only April! I hope this is not a sign that the quickly approaching summer is going to be a hot one. Of course, this being Texas, it is a given that the summer will be long and hot. Mr Piggy, from STAMP'N PLUS SCRAP'N, is keeping cool with his shades and a cold drink. This will be me soon. Actually, I will probably be hibernating indoors in the air conditioning. I don't do heat well unless I am in a swimming pool with a lemonade.

Happy Easter! Hope you are spending a lovely relaxing day with loved ones. With Easter soon behind us, next up is Mother's Day. I read once that Mother's Day was the highest volume day for phone calls. So, if you still are fortunate enough to have your mom in your life, don't forget to give her a call. A card would be nice too. With that in mind, I found a wonderful image for a Mother's Day card.

This beautiful lady was perfect for the front of this Victorian inspired card. The image is one of many beautiful stamps from STAMP'N PLUS SCRAP'N that are perfect for a card for any special lady.

I used designer papers from K & Company that fit the feminine theme beautifully. I also used a border punch from Martha Stewart and I made the cream colored roses with Sizzix die.

De Nami Challenge

Over at the DE NAMI BLOG they are having a Monochromatic Challenge. I guess I never thought about it before, but making a card with basically shades of just ONE color is not the easiest thing to do!
Also, I really do not have many DeNami stamps, so that made it even more challenging. Here is what I
came up with.

I used some dies from Papertrey along with a couple EK Success punches to help me put this card together. The flower is stamped and embossed and is a De Nami image. I threaded my buttons with tulle fabric. The leaves are punched from vellum, and the sentiment is computer generated and printed on vellum.

Just a quick post with a quick card I made. Lots of birthdays coming up on my calendar, so I am working ahead just a bit to get a supply going! :D This was a simple and easy card to do.

I disrtressed my papers a bit using some of the Vintage Photo ink from Tim Holtz. I like to use a cut apart sponge--one of the round ones you buy at the craft stores. I usually cut them into four pieces. Very inexpensive! I punched my own centers for the Prima Flowers and added a button. The Verve sentiment is stamped on a doily that I cut with one of my Papertrey doily dies--gotta LOVE them!
