Step Card

I came across a blog the other day that has some pretty amazing cards.   It belongs to a lovely lady named Desire Fourie and is called "Doing Life."  You can find it at  this web address http://desiref.blogspot.com/search/label/CARDS and I know you won't be disappointed!  She makes some pretty unusual embellishments from paper folding that are a great change from the usual buttons, bows, etc.

I was caught by Desire's use of the "step card."  They fit into my tastes perfectly, as they allow you to mix different paper designs, which I love to do, and provide a good size card base to work on; lots of times I find the usual A2 and A6 cards are not quite big enough.  Sooooooo I have been having a great time playing with the step card design!

My cards are not as grand as Desire's, but I did use one of her folded circle embellishments on my cards.  Using this image on an A2 card would pretty much take up most of the front of the card.  But on this step card  layout, there is still plenty of room to mix papers, add embellishments, and even a sentiment if you wanted to.

I will be posting more of the step cards in the next few days.  Hope you like them!

Beverly what a beautiful centre stepper you have crafted here. Your design papers are scrumptious and of course I adore those folded circle embellies with the double sided design paper. The buttons finishes them off perfectly. You have also coloured the sweet girl wonderfully. Thanks so much for the mention as well. I am so honoured that you tried out my tutorials.

So cute! I have a step card die but haven't played much with it. I love your color combos and your dp mixes. You have inspired me.
